Christopher Shane Smith

March 14, 1973 — June 3, 2024

Tool, Texas

In loving memory of Christopher Shane Smith, born on March 14, 1973, in Dallas, Texas, who peacefully passed away at the age of 51 in McKinney, Texas, on June 3, 2024, following a sudden heart attack.

Chris dedicated much of his life to the construction industry, he earned a reputation as the "crazy white boy." He brought pride to every project he tackled, leaving behind a legacy of hard work. Yet, beyond the job site, Chris found his greatest joy in the company of his beloved family and friends.  He cherished moments spent cooking out, casting lines into the water while fishing, and most of all, the exhilarating freedom he felt while riding his motorcycle. For Chris, each ride was an opportunity to embrace life fully and feel truly alive.  Above all else, Chris was a devoted family man, deeply committed to his children and grandchildren. His love for them knew no bounds, and his memory will forever live on in their hearts.  Born the eldest child to Tommy and Billie Smith, Chris spent his formative years in Waco, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Amy Smith, of Mabank, Texas; his children Angel, Jessica, Christopher and his wife Hannah, Lillian, and Lacey; stepchildren Kevin, Eric, and Trent; as well as his adored grandchildren Ayven, Myles, Brayla, Harley, Ava, Levi, Aria, and Kai; his mom, Billie Smith; his sisters, Rhonda Lites and husband Keith, Barbie Reed and husband Cody, along with nieces and nephews, Summer and significant other Colton, Faith, Conor, Presley and Cody-J, and great-nephew Paxton. Chris had many others that held a special place in his heart.

Chris was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Casey; his father, Tommy Smith, his grandparents, Clayton and Dorothy Smith, Thurman and Jenny Roberts, Eric and Nelda Poetschke. He also joins in eternal rest his cherished cousins Karen Stewart, Donnie Combs and Jessica Green.

In the wake of Chris's passing, let us remember him not with sorrow, but with gratitude for the light he brought into our lives and the lasting memories he leaves behind. May his spirit continue to guide and inspire us all.
