Darlene Andrews Hogg

Jul 25, 1947 — Jul 16, 2026

Kemp, Texas

Darlene Andrews Hogg, of Kemp, Texas, formerly of Crockett, Texas, was born July 25, 1947, to Freddie Lee "Pat" Andrews and Ruth Darwin Andrews, and left this earth to meet her Lord and Savior on July 16, 2026.

Darlene was raised in Evadale, Texas, where she built the foundation of a life marked by faith, love, strength, and devotion. She was steadfast in her walk with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and her faith guided the way she lived, loved, served, and cared for others.

Throughout her life, Darlene worked as a telephone operator, cosmetologist, dairy farmer, and later retired from TDCJ. No matter the season of life or the work before her, she gave of herself with dedication and care.

Her greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother. She loved her family deeply and found happiness in the moments shared with those she held dear. She always made sure her children and family had everything they needed and wanted. Darlene also enjoyed sports, hunting, traveling to Colorado, and reading, most importantly reading her Bible. Colorado held a special place in her heart, as her parents traveled there annually to camp and hunt elk. She was very talented and could sew, draw, play the piano and organ, and sing beautifully, using her gifts to bring joy and worship into the lives of others.

Darlene will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. The legacy of her kindness, faith, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Words cannot express how deeply she will be missed.

Her memory will be cherished by her husband, Bruce Hogg and and her loving Hogg family; her son, Steve Mock and wife Debbie; her daughter, Tara Mock Young and husband Trey; her brother, Charles Andrews and wife Phyllis; her sister, Linda Welsh; her brother, Timothy Andrews and wife Tammie; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was lovingly welcomed home by her parents, her grandparents, and other family members and friends who went before her.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity or cause of choice. A private memorial service for family and close friends will be held in the near future at Evergreen Cemetery in Crockett, Texas.
