He peacefully departed this life on October 25, 2025, in Gun Barrel City, Texas. Doyle led a life filled with love and dedication, qualities that shone brightly through his relationships with family and friends.

Prior to his service in the United States Navy, Doyle began his professional journey on the grand floor of Microsoft, later embracing the freedom of self-employment. His educational foundation was laid at Devry Institute, where he developed skills that would serve him well throughout his life. Doyle’s interests were many and varied. His enjoyments of performing arts & crafts are shown through his talent in building birdhouses, demonstrating both creativity and a passion for nature. He also found joy in solving crossword puzzles, and due to his love and talent of playing pool he was described as “a pool shark” among his friends. Gardening was another passion, where he cultivated not just plants but also memories shared with those he loved most. His dedication to carpentry reflected his loyal and thoughtful nature, always willing to lend a hand to family and friends.  Family was at the heart of Doyle's life. He cherished his wife of 29 years, Raye Gentry, and together they created countless cherished moments. Doyle was a proud father to Andrew Holt and his wife BreAnna, Kenneth Holt and his wife Stacye, and Brenda Jones and her husband Nick. He embraced the role of grandfather with immense pride, adoring his grandchildren, Skyler Haley, Justin Haley, Jordan Holt, Joshua Holt, and granddaughter Adriana Holt. These bonds brought him unparalleled joy, and he treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren, who loved him dearly.

Doyle is also survived by his siblings, Buck and his wife Anita, and Carri Patricia Gentry, who will carry forward his spirit of loyalty and companionship.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bascom and Betty Gentry, and his sister, Nacheska Gentry Combs, who will be remembered alongside him as a part of his legacy.

Doyle Dane Gentry’s warmth and kindness enrich the memories shared by those who were fortunate to know him. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of his loved ones, a gentle reminder of the love and joy he brought into their lives.
