Jerry Evans Tierney, Jr.

Jerry Evans Tierney Jr., age 86, of Kemp, Texas, passed away on July 24, 2026, in Athens, Texas. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, on July 3, 1940, to parents Harold. and Myrna (Peters) Bratlie.

Jerry earned his associate degree from Central College in Dallas. Throughout his career, he worked as a Certified Inspector for Texas Instruments and later as an "A" Certified Wastewater Treatment Plant Supervisor for the City of Dallas. He was a fantastic husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who was known for always giving his very best. Jerry enjoyed garage sales, flea markets, slot machines, and spending time gardening. He especially cherished traveling with his grandchildren, often laughing through the unexpected car troubles that made those trips even more memorable. One of his greatest joys was celebrating the accomplishments of his family, especially graduations.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Bratlie.; his mother, Myrna Bratlie; and his brother, James Allen Tierney.

He is survived by his wife, Wandalena Tierney of Kemp, Texas; daughters, Kilena and Karen Hawks, of Granbury, Texas, Lorrie Wallace and Mark of Titusville, Florida, Margie Lantz and Jeff of Haughton, Louisiana, Michael Bullard and Douglas Bullard of Orlando, Florida, Mary Ann Valentinand Luis Valentin of Athens, Texas; his son, Waymon Tierney of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brothers, Pete Swan of Shreveport, Louisiana, Jeffrey Tierney and Sheryl of San Antonio, Texas; his sister, Toni Lynn and Jon Beeler of Cherry Hill, New Jersey; and numerous other beloved family members and friends.
