Jimmy (James) Waverly Lane

Jimmy (James) Waverly Lane, age 79, passed away on July 30, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Trinidad, Texas. He was born on January 23, 1947, in Dallas, Texas to parents King Waverly and Aurelia (Schmitz) Lane.

James graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and devoted his life to hard work and serving others. He proudly served with the University Park Fire Department for 20 years before spending approximately 45 years in construction and painting. James took pride in every job he did and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.  James was known for his fun-loving, caring personality and his generous heart. He enjoyed fishing, working in his yard, traveling, and trying his luck at the casino. Above all, he treasured spending time with his family and friends, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come. One of James’ greatest joys in life was helping others, and his kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

James is preceded in death by his parents, King and Aurelia Lane; and his sisters, Joann Whatley and Jeanette Banks.

James is survived by his beloved wife, Pam Lane; his daughter, Kellie Lane Berry and husband Billy of Canton, Texas; his sons, Jimmy Lane and wife Kerry of Kemp, Texas, and Will Lee and wife Amber of Garland, Texas; and his daughter, Jennifer Meador and husband Blake of Forney, Texas. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Mallory Lane and husband Jason, Chase Lane and wife Stormi, Hunter Lane and wife Megan, Katy Berry, Chloe Meador, and Payton Meador. His legacy lives on through his great-grandchildren, Kori Farmer, Cylan Peters, Lexi Farmer, Kylie Peters, and Sabrina Lane. James is further survived by his brother, George Lane and wife Shirley; his sister, Nancy Aguilar and husband John; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

James will be remembered for his strong work ethic, caring spirit, and willingness to help anyone in need. His love for his family, his generosity, and the countless lives he touched will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
