Sharon Williams

March 2, 1945 — July 9, 2025

Kemp, Texas

A sweet journey ended on July 9th, 2025 for one of the most kindhearted people you could ever meet. It all started on March 2nd, 1945, when Sharon was born to Willard and Ruby in Kermit, TX. Then her family grew with two additions of a baby brother, Ronnie and then a little sister of Carla Sue in Odessa, TX.

Sharon was a proud 1963 graduate of Odessa High school. It was in the same town, she did a little drag racing down old Andrews Hwy. It ended with a ticket book and her signature. Her racing quickly turned into the chase of one Mr. Clifford Williams that was caught on Sept 2nd, 1967. A move to Houston for a short bit and a pink bundle of joy, Cindy. Next stop Van Alstyne and a big surprise with Steven. The final move landed their family of 4 to Kemp.

Sharon had the great honor of being the bus driver for bus #27 for some of the Greatest kids for over 12 years. The normal routine was spending time at Western Café eating breakfast with other drivers. Now let’s add that Clifford found Jesus during this time and later became the Pastor of New Faith Tabernacle in Seven Points. Sharon loved church from a young age and instilled that in her kids and grands. Her school bus skills turned into picking up her youngest granddaughters for church for every service. We can all see her leading us in I’ll Fly Away, playing her tambourine with Clifford, Ricky, and Bobby as her back-up band. One of the greatest heartbreaks that she had was when she lost the love of her life in 2020. She stayed strong for almost 5 years with the support of her family. There is a lot here today that helped her celebrate her 80th birthday with a crawfish boil in March that led into a karaoke show of old songs including of course, I’ll Fly Away. However, she got sick in April and was ready to meet her Lord and Savoir and see Clifford again. I can't even imagine the Home Coming that is going on this week.

Sharon is preceded in death in by her husband, Clifford Williams; both her parents, Willard Witt and Ruby Shannon; stepfather, Bill Shannon; her brother, Ronnie Witt, along with numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Cindy and husband Bobby Conn of Kemp; son, Steven and wife Chrissy Williams of Kemp; son, Ricky White of Kemp; 5 grandchildren, Lesley and husband Garry of Kemp, Emiley and wife Jennifer of Mabank, Chloe and Cross of Kemp, Carly of Kemp and Brantley of Kemp; 4 great-grands, Conley, Grace Ann, Chandler and Hagen. Then we can't forget all of her extended family and friends including Kennedy Hutson and Jenna Haley who got weekly granddaughter lunch deliveries, too.
