Kay Evelyn Jernigan

Kay Evelyn Jernigan, age 76, passed away on September 16, 2026, in Dallas, Texas. She was born on October 6, 1949, in Dallas, Texas to parents Charles and Elizabeth (Rhinelander) Davis.

Kay was a strong-minded, outspoken woman who was never afraid to let you know what was on her mind. She lived life in her own way and was someone who could always be counted on to speak honestly and from the heart.

Some of Kay's favorite memories were made while traveling and spending time outdoors. She especially loved visiting the Grand Canyon and going on vacation. One of her proudest memories was riding her horse, Buck.

Kay was also very proud of her position as an executive accountant at ADT for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed the simple things in life – Kay loved working outside, mowing the yard, and spending time in her flower beds. She enjoyed feeding and watching the birds and took pleasure in caring for the animals she loved, including her house cat and dog.

Kay will be remembered for her independent spirit, her honesty, her love of the outdoors and animals, and the memories she made with those around her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Kay is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Elizabeth Davis.

Kay is survived by her loving husband, Edward Jernigan; brother, Charlie Davis and wife Rita of Athens, Texas; brother, Jimmy Davis and wife Leonna Davis of Tulsa, Oklahoma; as well as many other family, friends, and loved ones.
