Lareva Kaye Walker was born on March 27, 1944, in Hamburg, Arkansas, to Ruby Taylor Manning and Ruben Wright Manning. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Harold Aubrey Walker; and her only sibling, Letha Maye Manning Mason.
Kaye and Harold built a beautiful life together, moving to Irving, Texas, in 1970, where they raised their four children, Clint, Laura, Alan, and Leigh Anne. In the early 1980s, they purchased 18 acres in Kemp, Texas, and began building their dream home. In 1986, they moved to Kemp, continuing to build the home that would become the heart of countless family memories.
Kaye was an exceptionally intelligent, hardworking, and determined woman. Although her formal education ended after the tenth grade, her natural intelligence and strong work ethic allowed her to accomplish remarkable things. She worked in the business office at Winn-Dixie before joining Kemp 'SD, where she began as an administrative assistant to the principal and later became a business office manager, overseeing the district's finances.
Kaye had a lifelong passion for bowling. She and Harold bowled together for many years at Golden Triangle Lanes in Irving, Texas. After moving to Kemp in 1986, they stepped away from the sport to focus on raising their family and building their home. Thirty years later, a family trip to Hot Springs rekindled her love for bowling. She joined a league in Seven Points, Texas, and went on to compete across the United States, becoming one of the top bowlers in her age group.
Above all, Kaye's greatest pride and joy was her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a doting grandmother. Her children always knew they had a place to call home. No matter the circumstances, her door was open, and her love was unconditional.
Kaye absolutely loved sports! Whether it was basketball or football, if there was a game on television, she was watching. Until recently, she could also be found in the stands, proudly cheering on her children and grandchildren. Sports were truly one of her greatest passions!
Kaye leaves behind her four children; 13 grandchildren, Justin, Nathan, Kristin, Elizabeth, CJ, Lillian, Kennedi, Trace, Liam, Jeremy, Joshua, Anna, and Aubrey; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was also blessed with a large extended family, including many nieces, nephews, brothers in-law, and sisters in-law. Though connected by marriage, they shared a bond that was truly family, filled with love and lifelong memories.
The family would like to sincerely thank everyone who visited, called, sent messages, and offered love and support during this difficult time. Your kindness has meant more than words can express.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Kristina Crowley for the love, compassion, and dedication she has shown as our mother's caretaker. Her kindness and care have brought comfort and peace to our family, and we are forever grateful. In addition, her son Clint, who has also been here for her in her greatest time of need. Your dedication has not gone unnoticed and you deserve recognition for all that you did as well.
Kaye will be laid to rest in the family plot in Plumerville, Arkansas, beside her beloved husband, Harold.
