Maria Guadalupe (Lupe) Jones

Maria Guadalupe Jones, known to friends and family as Lupe, age 63, passed away on October 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Kemp, Texas. She was born on December 11, 1961, in Edcouch, Texas to parents Ascension and Teresa (Huerta) Garza.

Lupe was known for her loving spirit, adventurous nature, and infectious laughter. Family and friends brought her immense joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them, particularly her beloved grandchildren who were the pride and joy of her life. She married Ron Jones on July 26, 2003, in Ennis, Texas, and together they created many cherished memories over their 22 years of marriage. Lupe was a devoted Customer Service Manager at Schirm USA for 30 years, where her caring and outgoing personality made a lasting impact on both coworkers and clients alike. Her interests when not working were as diverse as her personality; she enjoyed quilting, golfing, camping, hunting, and even scuba diving. These hobbies not only brought her joy but also provided opportunities to bond with family and friends.

Lupe is survived by her husband, Ron Jones; her children, Rosa Perez and husband John, and Victor Zapata; her stepchildren, Ron Jones, Jr. and wife Chelsea, and Jennifer Scribner and husband Billy; and her precious grandchildren, Lillianna, Mateo, Zoi, Maddox, Cooper, Carson, Ryan, Ryder, Riston, Mae, and Jaxon. She is also survived by her siblings, Nick Garza, Estella Hernandez and husband Johnny, Noel Garza and husband John, Norma Zavala and husband Daniel, Rita Aguirre and husband Juan, Ruben Garza and wife Maricela, Carlos Garza and wife Robin, and Mark Garza and wife Kim; her brother-in-law, Ray Jones and wife Julie, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

Lupe is preceded in death by her grandparents, Rufino and Micaela Huerta; her grandson, Ezekiel Perez; her mother, Teresa Medina; her stepson, Ruben Jones; her mother-in-law, Helen Jones; and her father-in-law, Leon Jones.

A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on October 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral Home, located at 1226 S Elm St, Kemp, TX 75143. Friends and family are invited to gather to remember and celebrate the vibrant life of a remarkable woman who touched the hearts of many.
