Marilyn "Gayle" Ray, a beloved figure known for her kindness and warmth, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on May 8, 2025. Born on October 18, 1933, in Clifton, Texas, to Virgil and Loma (Dunn) Wallace, Gayle dedicated much of her life to her family and the community she cherished deeply.

Jackie and Gayle married in Houston, Texas on November 9, 1963. For 40 years, Gayle owned and managed Houston Bookbinding alongside her husband. Their partnership in business was a testament to their love and collaboration that thrived across decades, mirroring their strong bond in life.  Gayle was known not only as a devoted wife and mother but also as an individual whose nurturing spirit touched the lives of many. Her loving and kind personality made her a friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She had a passion for gardening, finding joy tending to her flower beds, which reflected her vibrant character and appreciation for beauty in life.

She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Jackie Ray; daughters, Lisa Landrum (Perry), Janyce Parmer (Robert), and Laura Braden; and 9 grandchildren.

Gayle is preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Loma Wallace; son, Roger Holland, Jr.; and grandson, Stephen Seymore.

A graveside service to celebrate Gayle's life and legacy will be held at Kemp Cemetery in Kemp, Texas on May 13, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM. The family welcomes all who wish to pay their respects and honor the remarkable life of Gayle Ray. Her legacy of love, dedication, and kindness will remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
