Melvia Miller

February 5, 1950 — July 10, 2024

Mabank, Texas

Melvia Dell Miller, 74, passed away on July 10, 2024, in Mabank, Texas. She was born on February 5, 1950, in Dallas, Texas to parents Marvin and Eugene (Patman) Miller.

Throughout her career, Melvia touched the lives of many children as a caregiver at Merrimac Daycare for over 15 years. Her nurturing spirit and kindness left a lasting impact on all the little ones who crossed her path. Later, she dedicated over a decade of service as a custodian for Eustace ISD, U.T. Arlington and Wal Mart, where her hard work and dedication shone brightly.

Melvia possessed a giving, caring and selfless soul, always happy and very funny, a reflection of her childhood nickname of "nut-nut". Melvia's infectious laughter could brighten even the darkest of days. She had a natural gift for spreading joy wherever she went, and her sense of humor brought light to those around her.

When not working, Melvia, fondly referred to by many as "Pepper" found solace in the great outdoors, especially when indulging in her love for fishing where she cherished every moment spent by the water with a fishing pole in hand. Apart from fishing, Melvia had a gift of talents, playing the harmonica, banjo and guitar along with a steady hand for drawing and wood crafting, creating beautiful pieces that will continue to be cherished by those who were lucky enough to witness her talent.

Melvia's life was a tapestry of selflessness, love, laughter, and creativity, and she will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Melvia is preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Eugene Miller; and her sister, Yvonne Miller Woods

Melvia is survived by her daughter, Melissa Carroll of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter, Melanie Carroll and spouse Beth of Gun Barrel City, Texas; brother, Alvis Miller of Payne Springs, Texas, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
