Mildred Louise King Coburn passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025, in Harlingen, Texas, at the age of 88. She was born on October 23, 1936, in Kemp, Texas. Mildred lived a full life centered around her faith in God, her love for family, and her care for her community.
Mildred was known for her gentle spirit, kind heart, and strong faith. She gave her time generously, serving in her church and helping others whenever she could. Her life was a quiet example of strength and compassion.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Calvin Coburn; her parents, Jadie and Bonnie King; her brother, Jerrell King; her sister, Barbara Tims; and her great-granddaughter, Emma Davis.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Denise (Charles) Davis of Weslaco, Texas; her grandchildren: Johana (Christian) Munoz of Prosper, Jared Mullins of Combine, and Jaron (Anna) Mullins of Mercedes. She was proud of her great-grandchildren: Lucas Munoz, Ethan Hershon, Alexia Mullins, Andrew Hershon, Emmitt Mullins, Zoe Hershon, Scarlett McKowen, Colton Mullins, Gabriel Munoz, Trinity Munoz, and Emma Mullins.
Mildred also leaves behind her extended family who brought her great joy: Nicole Greenlee, Zach (Claudia) Davis, Charly (John) Faulkner, Quincy (Meghan) Rice, Cameron Rice, Zachary Davis, Annabelle Davis, Kaydence Faulkner, Kaleb Faulkner, Sebastian Rice, and Silas Rice.
She is also lovingly remembered by her stepsons: Michael (Elaine) Coburn of Athens and Thomas (Aileen) Coburn, Jr. of Lewisville, along with their families: Chris (Trish) Coburn of Athens; Tim Coburn of Martinsburg, WV; Ginger (Frank) Buentello, Kristy (Charles) Osborn of Garland; Holly (Wesley) Parks of Khobar, Saudi Arabia; Danielle Coburn, and Brian (Allison) Coburn, both of Dallas.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral Home, 1226 S. Elm St., Kemp, Texas 75143. Burial will follow at King Cemetery on County Road 2138 in Kemp, Texas.
Mildred’s life was a beautiful example of love, faith, and quiet strength. As we say goodbye, we hold on to the memories and the lessons she shared. Her greatest joy was her family, and her greatest strength was her faith. Though her earthly journey has ended, her legacy lives on in each of us. May we honor her by loving one another deeply, just as she so lovingly showed us how.
