Richard Gene Westbrook Jr., of Kemp, Texas, passed away on July 23, 2025, at the age of 61. Born on October 25, 1963, in Dallas, Texas, Richard was a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, and uncle, whose memory will be cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Throughout his life, Richard was known for his great sense of humor and his deep love for his family. He found joy and fulfillment in his roles as a father and grandfather, proudly watching his children and grandchildren grow. Richard was a man of many interests. He had a passion for fishing and was an avid NASCAR fan, always ready to discuss the latest races. His love for the Dallas Cowboys and football was equally fervent, and he often delighted friends and family with stories of his adventures, including a notable penchant for driving backwards—a skill that brought both laughter and surprise. Richard was also an animal lover, and he adored his cat, affectionately named "Turd." His ability to find humor in life, combined with his profound love for his family, created lasting memories that will be remembered fondly.
Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kina Westbrook, his father, Richard Gene Westbrook Sr., and his sister, Vickie Butler.
Richard is survived by his son, Richard "Bo" Westbrook, and daughter-in-law Ashley, along with his cherished grandchildren, Avery and Carter Westbrook, and Evan Toler. Richard’s mother, Deloris Westbrook, and his brother, Jody Willoughby, and sister-in-law Jessie, also mourn his passing. He leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, including Michael Moore and his wife Kim, Samantha Stanley and her husband Randy, and Randi Ferrell and her husband Jody.
Visitation will be held at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Kemp, Texas, on July 25, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at the same location from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
The legacy of Richard Gene Westbrook Jr. will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and he will be missed deeply by all who had the honor of calling him family or friend.
