Rickey Dale Brewer, 76, of Barry, TX passed away on November 27, 2025. Rickey was born on March 13, 1949, to Howard and Dorothy Brewer in Dickson, TN. Rickey joined the Army when he finished high school.
He served as an Army Spec 5 UHIH Aircraft Mechanic. When he was honorably released from the Army he got into construction. Rickey worked as a Foreman for many years before owning his own company with his wife, Vickie, and of course they called the company “Vickie’s Enterprise”. He was married to Vickie Brewer for 30 years before her passing in November 2019. Rickey spent time going to flea markets, especially Big Daddy’s in Tool, TX, and garage sales- all he ever wanted for himself was flea market money! He had a knack for finding deals. Rickey really enjoyed gardening and being outdoors often found on his tractor and working his cattle. He was a beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather. Though he will be forever missed with such a tragic loss on a family centered holiday, his children will always remember Thanksgiving not only as a day of sorrow or sadness but as his favorite holiday. He loved, loved, loved turkey and dressing, especially Vickie’s. Rickey stepped up to raise Krissy and Ginger after the passing of their father at the young ages of just 8 & 10. However, there has never been doubt that he was THEIR DAD. He ended up raising a total of 6 children without question, without hesitation. He worked hard all of his life to provide for his family, teaching his children and grandchildren the meaning of hard work. Over the years he helped Vickie's siblings along with parents and grandparents, always doing his very best to provide for those in need never thinking of himself. His daughter Ginger recalls sharing with her father a short time before his passing that it was okay for him to let go as she knew just how much he had missed and prayed to see his sweet wife again one day.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Dorothy, and his wife Vickie. Those left to cherish his memory are daughters: Krissey McCool Bailey and husband Scott, along with Ginger McCool Hutchins and husband Chris; nieces who are like daughters: Ladonna Derhammer and Misty Kidd and husband Calvin; grandchildren: Zoie Bailey, Rubi Bailey, John Bailey and wife Kara, Lauren Bailey, Justin McCool, Daisy Hutchins, Cheyanne Derhammer and Ethan Derhammer; numerous extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
