Rickie Jay Leptic,78 passed away on June 2, 2025, at his home in Kemp, Texas. He was born on November 22, 1946, in Dallas County, Texas to parents Milton and Margie (Cain) Leptic. Rickie was primarily raised in Dallas, where he spent most of his formative years.
Rickie's education was a point of pride for him. He graduated from North Dallas High School in 1964, and later pursued higher education, obtaining an Associate's degree at Trinity Valley Community College and a Bachelor's degree at the University of Texas at Arlington.
His career began at Texas Instruments, where he worked as a draftsman for 20 years before retiring. After retirement, he continued to work as a self-contractor. Rickie also served his country honorably, being active in the army for three years during the Vietnam War and subsequently serving an additional three years in the Army Reserves.
Rickie had a variety of interests that brought him joy. He enjoyed collecting guns, spending time at the firing range, and going fishing. These hobbies were a big part of his life and were something he loved to share with others.
Rickie is survived by his sons, Chance Leptic & wife Kristy, and Curtis Leptic & wife Ashley; grandchildren, Johnny Leptic, Sydny Blanchard and Colton Murrey.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Valarie Leptic; along with his parents.
A graveside service will be held on June 11, 2025, at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas, starting at 9:15 AM, concluding at 10:15 AM. Rickie Jay Leptic will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his contributions to his profession, and his service to his country.
