d. May 11, 2026

Scurry, Texas

Robert Thomas Fleming, affectionately known to many as “Blackbird,” passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, in , the place he proudly called home. He was born on January 8, 1953.

Robert was a man who enjoyed life in the simple and meaningful ways that mattered most to him. He loved driving the open roads, watching NASCAR races—especially cheering on —and spending countless hours tinkering on his beloved 1980 model truck. Known for his mischievous sense of humor, Robert was a true jokester with an ornery streak that kept family and friends laughing through the years.

Above all else, Robert loved his family deeply. He leaves behind cherished memories with his daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Mahan and Leighton Mahan; his son, Robert Fleming; grandchildren Liam Mahan, Delia Mahan, and Audrey Mahan; and step-grandchildren Morgan, Taylor, and Thomas. He is also survived by Ron and Belinda.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughters, Amy and Beth.

Robert’s presence, humor, stubborn spirit, and love for his children and grandchildren will be dearly missed and forever remembered by those who knew and loved him.
