Ronald “Ronnie” Capehart, 78, of Kemp, Texas, went to be with the Lord on March 8, 2026.
Ronnie was born on June 28, 1947, in Dallas, Texas, to Chester and Margaret (Fields) Capehart. He graduated from Spruce High School in 1966 and later attended Trinity Valley Community College (formerly Henderson County Junior College), where he played football.
Ronnie dedicated most of his adult career to public service, working for the City of Dallas and the City of Mesquite. He was known for his strong work ethic and his ability to connect with people everywhere he went.
Ronnie was baptized in 1965 at Fireside Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. Shortly after, he married the love of his life, Phyllis Evans, on January 19, 1966. Ronnie and Phyllis built a beautiful life together and raised two wonderful sons. His devotion to his family was unwavering, and he took great pride in the life they built together.
Ronnie loved traveling with Phyllis and family wherever the road would take them. From numerous cruises and Florida vacations to quick trips to the casino and countless RV adventures, Ronnie truly enjoyed making memories and living life to the fullest.
Ronnie had a flair for life and a special gift for making people laugh. His contagious laugh, quick wit, and funny sayings could turn any bad day into a good one. He was known for his outgoing personality and his ability to bring joy to everyone around him.
Ronnie is survived by his son, Jeff Capehart and wife, Chelsea, of Mabank, Texas; grandsons, Jace Capehart and Grant Capehart of Mabank, Texas; daughter-in-law, Jenny Capehart of Allen, Texas; granddaughter, Jordyn Anthony and husband Jeremy of McKinney, Texas; granddaughter, Sydney Capehart of Allen, Texas; grandson, Drew Capehart of Allen, Texas; great-granddaughter, Austyn Anthony; great-grandson, Hayes Anthony; Sister, Ginger Elane Chambless, and husband, Joe of Kemp, Texas along with many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; his son, Scotty Capehart; his parents, and siblings, James and Rose.
