Shirley Ann Carter Johnson passed away on April 16, 2022, at the age of 78, in Canton, Texas surrounded by her loved ones. She was born February 25,1944, in Jackson, Tennessee to Sherrill David and Dovie Bell (New) Carter.
Shirley was a faithful servant of the Lord and found much comfort in her daily reading of the bible or enjoying watching Jimmy Swaggart on the television; there was no better way for her to relax then by sitting and watching the hummingbirds outside. Shirley was a nurturer and caregiver spending most of her life watching after her children and performing the duties of a housewife.
Shirley leaves behind many loved ones to carry on her memories including her husband of 37 years William Edward Beckwith; three children Jeffrey Johnson of Joshua, Texas, Anissa Johnson of Canton, Texas, and Tim Johnson of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren T.J. of Spokane, Washington, Jeffrey Hunter Johnson of Midlothian, Texas, Brandie Johnson of Arlington, Texas, Justin Johnson of Joshua, Texas, Brittany Bowen of Fort Worth, Texas, Bethany Perdew of Arlington, Texas, and Jessica Rojas of Grandview, Texas; great grandchildren Blake Johnson of Arlington, Texas, Landon Johnson of Grand Prairie, Texas, Gavin Johnson of Grand Prairie, Texas, Jaxon Climer & Zoe Climer of Arlington, Texas, Jessabelle, Lilliana, Zayden of Grandview, Texas, Lexie, and Sadie; one great-great grandchild Tyler; sisters Lois Coker, Lottie Johnson, Mary Jo Barnes, Margie Gullett and Wilma Doss; brothers Kenneth Carter, Jerry Carter, Allen Carter, and Carl Carter.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and three of her siblings, David Carter, Betty Carter, and Gail Carter.
