Tamara Kaye Parish Thompson passed away on May 31, 2025, at her home in Kaufman, Texas with her loved ones near. She was born on October 24, 1969, in Midland, Texas.
Tamara was a member of Northview Church of Christ of Rockwall, Texas where she faithfully served the Lord. Her journey through life was marked by compassion, humor, and an indomitable spirit.
Tamara pursued her passion for caring for others by earning her Associate Degree in Nursing from Trinity Valley Community College in 2009. She dedicated a significant portion of her career as an Emergency Room nurse at UT Health from 2009 to 2017, where her quick wit and nurturing demeanor provided comfort to patients in times of distress. She continued her nursing career as a Hospice Nurse in both Texas and New York. Tamara shared her compassion through her volunteering efforts at the Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen in New York.
Beyond her professional life, Tamara enjoyed being near the water and liked to travel, especially to Hawaii and New England. She excelled in music, including singing, playing the piano and clarinet. Tamara was known for fearlessly embracing life with a friendly and trustworthy disposition.
Tamara is survived by her sons, Samuel Thompson of Fairfield, Texas and Ryan Thompson of Kaufman, Texas; grandson, Tucker Thompson of Mexia, Texas; mother, Melinda Parish of Kaufman, Texas; grandmother, Juanita Swihart of Midland, Texas; sisters, Jennifer Clearman (Scott) of Kaufman, Texas, Kathryn Johnson (Gary) of Crandall, Texas Missy Jedlicka (Jerry) of Malakoff, Texas along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts and friends.
Tamara was preceded in death by her father, Bill Parish.
Tamara chose to donate her body to the Willed Body Program at UT Southwestern Medical Center, allowing her to continue contributing to medical education and research even after her passing.
Family and friends are invited to honor Tamara’s life, on June 4, 2025, with visitation from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 6:00 PM, at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral Home located at 1226 S Elm St, Kemp, TX 75143.
Tamara’s kindness, adventurous spirit, and fierce loyalty will remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be dearly missed.
