Weldon Lee Houston

Weldon Lee Houston, age 71, passed away in Dallas, Texas on June 11, 2025. He was born on October 26,1953, in Kaufman, Texas to Baty Haynie and Katherine Jean (Hughes) Houston.

Weldon was a great horse trainer, enjoying riding horses, and going on trail rides with close friends. He lived life to the fullest enjoying every minute. Much of his time was consumed with training horses and working at Dallas Independent School District followed by coming home to his family at the end of long days. As he got older with retirement his focus shifted to his family, his wife of 50 years, Mary; his children, grandchildren, great grandbabies, his best friends that called everyday Larry Martin and Mark Taylor and his dog, Emma.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Baty Haynie and Katherine Jean Houston and his sister Margie Houston.

Surviving to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Mary Houston; daughters, Mary Wennerstrom and Patricia Houston- Spalding; grandchildren, Kaylee Boren, Cameron Boren, Trinity Wennerstrom, Clifford McQueen, Alora Houston and Tayler “Tay-Tay” Dokey; 5 great grandbabies; brothers, Jackie Houston and Baty Houston, Jr.; numerous extended family and friends. He was blessed with family and friends who loved him and cherished his friendship. He will be greatly missed by everyone.
